One of the biggest, BIGGEST plusses of living in Singapore is that you are so central in this beautiful part of the world!
We have taken good advantage of that and taken many 3-4 day trips over the past 2 years.

We started with a 3 days-2 nights trip to a 'beach resort' in Malaysia at driving distance from Singapore to get our toes wet. The resort came highly recommended by one of Simon's colleagues. She assured us it was just like one of those Maldives stilt hotels! In the weeks leading up to our trip I met up with my new friend Jeanine for lunch and what do you know??!! Her family was going to the exact same place that weekend!! OH the FUN we would have!! Sipping glamorous cocktails on the beach, floating in crystal clear blue water, watching tropical fish through the glass floor in our hotel rooms!
So, ya, well... THAT didn't happen!! Only thing I'll say about is: Port Dickson, Malaysia is NOT a beach resort and is NOT comparable to the Maldives in any shape, way or form...
Fun story though, and Jeanine and I still crack up about on occasion ;-)

Second trip was much better: Off to Borneo to see us some Orangutans!
Lovely resort, good food, some orangutans, girls went horse-riding on the beach. The traveling bug was starting to get us!

For our third trip Britt, Liv and I joined our friends the Narshes Simon was traveling for work unfortunately. We visited Phuket, Thailand.
Fun filled few days to keep all kids and adults occupied! Wide water rafting, Zip lining, elephant rides! And all of that with some of the best travel buddies ever!!

For the Christmas period Hotel Warburton opened its doors for their first guests! And what a great bunch of guests!!My mum arrived early December and we explored China Town and Lttlle India and tried out a lot of new food places. The Henry's joined us for the Christmas periosd and more exploring was done including our first try of the Original Singapore Sling at Raffles Hotel. I won't repeat what Linda thought that tasted like! ;-).
After Christmas my mum left and we had some shuffling of beds and rearranging sleeping quarters to fit in 10 more people!
In South Africa a year earlier we had decided that we could start a new tradition of spending New Years together! So this year Jac and Daan - Karin, Maurice and Bo - Nicolette, Fritz, Mare, Mats and Lente ventured out to Singapore!

That definitely screamed for more Narsh-Warburton fun, so off to Cambodia!! Breathtakingly beautiful Siem Riep...
Ancient temples, quad biking, horse riding, a circus and a visit to an orphanage combined with the friendliest people and wonderful food, made for a well rounded adventure!

And just before our new friends would leave us to go back to the States, we manage to fit in one more relaxing trip to Bali. What can I say... I love Bali! And I love the Narshes!!

And over the year, Rachael and I had 2 lovely little sneaky trips to Batam, Indonesia, just a 50 minute ferry ride away, to a little piece of paradise called Tempat Senang. A boutique hotel & Spa resort were you get pampered at a smidgen of what it would cost you in SG. Best discovery ever ;-)

Summer of 2015 was all about escaping the heat and humidity, so Britt, Liv and I spend 7 weeks in Europe! 2 weeks in the UK and 5 weeks in the Netherlands. Simon joined us for 1 week UK and 1 week Holland to fit in our annual Ascot visit at the beginning of his trip and Nicolette and Fritz's farewell party at the end of it. The Meijaard-Coster family took off for their 3 year adventure in San Francisco.

Upon return we had 2 sets of guests arriving. First Ambria, Carlijn and Emma came to visit, followed seamlessly by Nat and Berend and the girls.

Missing our travel buddies, Britt, Liv and I managed to fit in another Bali visit in the October break. Simon was at his annual Cannes conference, so it was just us 3 girls. Great shopping, spa treats and sleeping in late.

Over the Thanksgiving long weekend the whole family ventured out to Vietnam.

Christmas was spend between UK and Holland.

April break we went to Japan
